Chairperson - Don Moore
A graduate from Sheridan College with a diploma in Business Administration, Don also graduated from University of Western with an Executive Marketing Degree, completed numerous courses in Purchasing Management Association from York University, and an Executive Management course from University of Chicago. After working as the Marketing Manager for Goodyear Canada from 1983 to 1995 and as the National Advertising Manager with Bridgestone/Firestone Canada to 2000, he acquired Fairview Tire and Auto Clinics Inc. He recently joined the Nelson Youth Centre in 2011. Don enjoys coaching minor hockey and baseball, playing hockey and golf, and taking early walks with his border collie. He has been married for 30 years with two children and one granddaughter.




Past Chair - Paul Johnson
Paul graduated from University of Calgary in Kinesiology with a minor in Management. He is part owner and manager of two retail “Barbecues Galore” barbecues and fireplace stores. Paul is an active member of his church and is a volunteer for the “The Meeting House”. He enjoys playing volleyball, golf and the guitar in his spare time. Paul lives in Burlington with his wife Kerry and their two children.




Vice Chair - Casey Cosgrove




Treasurer - Ruth Davis
Ruth is a Chartered Accountant and has worked in the public accounting sector for almost 20 years. She has been a long time Burlington resident and is a mother of three children. Ruth`s interests include golfing, camping and yoga. Ruth has also held the position of Treasurer for the Halton Waldorf School from 2006-2010.






Director - Tony Leitch
Tony has been on the board for seven years and he is in his second term. Tony served as lawyer in Ontario, a Deputy Crown Attorney for Hamilton, and is currently an Ontario Court of Justice Judge. Tony has resided in Burlington since 1996 and has two children.







 Director - Wendy Wootton

Wendy has been a member of the Nelson Youth Centre’s Board of Directors since 2010. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in German and worked in the field of International Banking. Wendy left the banking industry to establish a school for the arts and an international distribution company. Throughout her varied careers, Wendy continues to teach private piano lessons to children of all ages. Wendy and her husband, Ken, live in Burlington and have three children. She enjoys running, travelling, and playing the piano and harp.

Executive Director - Cindy McClure
Cindy has been the Executive Director for Nelson Youth Centres since 2004. Cindy earned a Bachelor's of Arts degree from the University of Guelph and a Masters Degree in Behavioural Studies from the University of Chicago. She also completed a Nursing Degree and is currently a registered nurse in the province of Ontario. Cindy's past career opportunities have included extensive nursing supervisory where she has worked primarily in the field of psychiatric therapy, combining her practical medical and psychological background and as a clinical therapist providing services to families, individuals, and couples. She has also been in senior management positions for children's mental health for 24 years. Cindy has been an accreditor since 1992 for the Children's Mental Health Ontario. She has also the treasurer and chair for the St. Catharine's Resource Service for Youth (The RAFT). Since starting at the Centre, Cindy has implemented two new programs, Reconnecting Youth and the Half-Day Intensive Program as well as enhancing the current programs offered at the Centre.
